The Challenge

Sensory complaints and liner-bond concerns were showing up on the same premium canister program

The converter was producing foil-lined composite cans for odor-sensitive products, but the existing adhesive route created too much uncertainty around both flavor neutrality and long-term laminate integrity.

  • Customer teams were worried that adhesive odor could migrate through the paper structure and affect the aroma profile of premium tea and similar sensitive fills.
  • The inner foil and paper body also needed more dependable anchorage so the barrier layer did not become the next failure point after a chemistry change.
  • Any replacement still had to run cleanly on the spiral-winding process instead of solving the sensory issue by creating new transfer or stability problems on the line.
