💰

Drastically Cut Costs

Apply directly on rust. Eliminate expensive, time-consuming, and hazardous sandblasting or heavy grinding.

⏱️

Accelerate Project Timelines

Minimize surface preparation and apply topcoats faster. Our room-temperature-curing formula simplifies the entire process.

🛡️

Achieve Superior Protection

Chemically converts rust into a stable, black passivation layer that provides powerful secondary protection and excellent topcoat adhesion.

How It Works: 3 Simple Steps to Stop Rust

Our technology doesn't just cover rust—it chemically transforms it into a solid, stable, and highly-protective surface ready for painting.

1. Rusted Surface

Start with a rusty steel or iron surface. Only loose, flaky rust needs to be removed with a simple wire brush.

2. Apply SENDA Converter

Apply a single coat of our water-based converter directly onto the adherent rust by brush, roller, or spray.

3. Converted & Protected

The converter reacts with rust (iron oxide) to form a hard, black, stable iron tannate layer, ready for your topcoat.

Ideal Applications

The perfect solution for any steel or iron surface where sandblasting is impractical, too expensive, or prohibited.

Technical Data & Safety Information

SENDA Rust Converter is a high-performance, water-based Styrene-Acrylic Copolymer formulation designed for industrial use.

Appearance Brownish-yellow liquid with a blue hue
Solid Content 36-38%
pH Value 2.0 - 4.0
Viscosity 0-300 cP (Brookfield, 3#/60 rpm/25°C)
VOC Content Low VOC, environmentally friendly
How much surface preparation is actually needed?

Minimal preparation is required, which is the primary benefit. You only need to remove loose, flaking rust and mill scale with a wire brush or scraper. Any adherent, firm rust can be left on the surface, as the converter needs it to react. The surface should be free of oil, grease, and dirt.

What kind of topcoat can I apply over the converter?

Our Rust Converter has excellent compatibility. Once fully cured (typically 24 hours), you can apply a wide range of topcoats, including acrylics, epoxies, and polyurethanes. We always recommend a test patch to ensure compatibility with your specific topcoat system.

What is the coverage rate and how is it applied?

Approximately 10-12 square meters per kilogram, depending on surface roughness and porosity. It can be easily applied by brush, roller, or conventional air/airless spray systems.

Is the product safe to use?

SENDA Rust Converter is a water-based, low-VOC product, making it significantly safer than solvent-based alternatives. However, it is an acidic industrial product (pH 2-4). Standard personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and safety glasses should be worn. Please refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full details.
